This is a new version of the very popular Midland 42 multi compact handheld CB radio, now fitted with a digital squelch system.

The "42DS" does it all - It's portable, you can use it in your vehicle with the included 12 Volt cigar-plug adapter, or even in your house.

It has the full legal 4 Watts output, and it comes complete with "Rubber Duck" flexi aerial, a Ni-Cad pack, (batteries not included,) a carry case, charger, 12V external connector accessory, wrist strap, and instruction manual.

This is the new 400 channel European version, this means it can use channels available in other countries. It can transmit on both AM and FM. both of which are now legal to use in the UK.

This is a VERY handy radio if you drive on the continent.

You can slide off the battery pack and slide on the external connector accessory which has connections for an external aerial and a 12V cigar plug.

The 42DS has many features including: LCD display and signal meter, last channel re-call, channel 9 switch, quick up/down, dual watch and scan.

There is also an optional external speaker microphone available for this model.

Note: When using ANY hand-held CB in a vehicle or building, we strongly recommend that you should use an external aerial, if you don't, the range will be quite limited.
